Service Calls
Have any of your lights or receptacles stopped working? Are your receptacles hot to the touch or emitting a burning smell? Then you need a Service Call! ​Call me with a brief description of the problem and we can schedule a time for me to come troubleshoot and complete any repairs.

Safety Check
Not sure if something is a problem? Maybe you’re buying a new home and have concerns about the electrical? Call me to schedule a Safety Check!​
Things to look for:

Are your devices giving off excessive heat?

Do you have exposed wiring or uncovered junction boxes?

Are any devices unsecured or damaged?

Do you smell burning or see any sparking from devices?

Are any breakers tripped or do any routinely trip? (i.e. called nuisance tripping)

Do all of your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms work?

Do you have any receptacles near a water source that are not GFCI protected? (i.e. this receptacle has a test button and a LED indicator light)

Are your circuits arc-fault protected? (note this became mandatory in new homes in 2016)
Installations and Upgrades
Upgrades
Do you have an old electrical panel in your home? Or is 100 amps not enough power? Replacing an old panel with a new one can bring peace of mind while upgrading your panel and service is possible with approval from Fortis Alberta.​ Updating your receptacles, switches, and lighting is another way to upgrade and modernize your home. While you’re at it, consider customizing with dimmers or smart features. This combines well with a Safety Check since I’ll get a good look at your home’s wiring during the upgrade.

Hot tubs
Who doesn’t love a good soak in a hot tub? But water and electricity don’t mix well, so this is a job you want done right! Each hot tub installation has varying factors to consider so please call for a free assessment. The power requirements for a hot tub are substantial, so a load calculation of your electrical panel is a must to ensure you don’t overload it.

Electric Vehicle Chargers
So you’ve purchased an electric vehicle and now you need an electric vehicle charger installed! You’ll also want a load calculation of your electrical panel—Electric vehicles require large amounts of energy and can easily overload your home’s electrical capacity. In these cases, a load management system may be required to satisfy electrical code. I can assess your situation and get you charged up and on the road!
